Investor was founded by the Wallenberg family in 1916 and is an investment company based in Sweden. The company has 92 employees based in offices in Stockholm, New York and Palo Alto.
The company’s investments are divided into three business areas: Listed Companies, Patricia Industries and Investments in EQT. Listed Companies includes the company’s long-term, strategic listed holdings. These are listed portfolio companies in which Investor holds significant minority ownership rights, such as ABB, AstraZeneca, Atlas Copco, Electrolux, Epiroc, Ericsson, Husqvarna, Nasdaq, Saab, SEB, Sobi and Wärtsilä. Patricia Industries contains Investor’s wholly owned subsidiaries, partner owned companies, and financial investments, including BraunAbility, Grand Group, Laborie, Mölnlycke, Permobil, Piab, Sarnova and Vectura. Finally, Investments in EQT is an investment firm in which the company invests.
The company’s main owner is the Wallenberg Foundations, which funds research projects and has awarded more than SEK 33 billion in grants over the years.
