The iShares Core MSCI Total International Stock ETF is an exchange traded fund which seeks to track the results of the MSCI ACWI ex USA IMI Index. This is an index composed of large-, mid- and small-capitalisation non-U.S. equities, primarily located in Japan, the UK, and China, as well as other countries. An ETF is essentially a basket of assets tied to a specific index. This fund is administered by BlackRock which has been an ETF provider since 1997, providing investors with more than 900 different ETFs.
Sectors covered by the assets held in this fund include financials, industrials, information technology, and consumer discretionary. The index itself is a free float-adjusted market capitalization index, which is essentially designed to measure the combined equity market performance of developed and emerging markets in countries outside of the United States.
The fund can generally be expected to invest at least 80% of its assets in the component securities of its underlying index and in investments that have economic characteristics that are substantially identical to the component securities of its underlying index. The iShares Core MSCI Total International Stock ETF is listed on the NASDAQ stock exchange where it trades under the ticker IXUS.
