Launched in 2015, the US Global Jets ETF is an exchange-traded fund that provides investors with exposure to the global airline industry, including airline operators and manufacturers from all over the world. The ETF is passively managed from the US Global ETFs headquarters in San Antonio, Texas. The Jets ETF is one of US Global's most liquid funds.
The US Global Jets ETF is listed on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker NYSE: JETS. It has a Weighted Average Market Capitlisation greater than $10bn and a price to earnings ratio of 20. The expense ratio on the fund is 0.60%. The funds investment mandate includes airline manufacturers but actual holdings are typically weighted towards airline operators, particulalry those based in the US.
The fund printed an all time high price of $34.75 in Jan 2018 and traded near those price levels until January 2020 when the COVID-19 pandemic caused a sell off in the air transportation sector. The price of the JETS ETF followed the price of the underlying assets which make it up, the JETS price falling by more than 65% in the first quarter of 2020.
