A financial services and wealth management company, Quilter plc was formed in 2016 as part of a spin-off by the British company, Old Mutual plc. After the spin-off, the company was named Old Mutual Wealth, but was rebranded as Quilter plc in 2017. The company headquarters is in London.
Quilter plc, ticker: QLT.L, is listed on the London Stock Exchange and is part of the FTSE 250 Index. Unlike many other companies in Europe, Quilter plc is also listed on several non-traditional exchanges, such as Johannesburg, Namibia, Malawi and Zimbabwe. The company went public in 2018, with an initial valuation of $3.35 billion. Shares were valued at 145 pence on the first day of trading. Quilter plc enlisted the help of several financial heavyweights to aid with the IPO: Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan and Bank of America Merrill Lynch.
Quilter plc was not the only division to spin off from Old Mutual plc. There were four additional spin-offs: Old Mutual Emerging Markets, Nedbank, UK-based Old Mutual Wealth and Old Mutual Asset Management.
