What is TRON TRX?
Tron, along with its native token Tronix or TRX, were founded in 2017 by the Singapore non-profit The Tron Foundation. They are one of the largest blockchain platforms, and their main goal is to create a global, decentralized entertainment system that allows cost-effective sharing of digital content, paid for with TRX coins. Through their platform, content-creators and audiences can connect directly, and they claim that they eliminate centralized platforms e.g. YouTube, iTunes or Netflix, and reduce commission costs, keeping the money with the creator.

Tron is also one of the fastest blockchain platforms, boasting a capacity for 2000 transactions per second, compared to much lower numbers from comparable assets. They acquired file-sharing service BitTorrent in 2018. As of September 2021, there is a total supply of 100 billion TRX coins, with 71.6 billion of these in circulation, however 45% of these are with the founder and project.
