Marriott Vacations Worldwide Corporation (MVW) is a hospitality firm that specialises in vacation ownership, exchanges, rentals, resorts, and property administration, as well as other associated companies, goods, and services. Marriott entered the timeshare sector as the industry's first hospitality brand in 1984, when it acquired American Resorts and its first vacation ownership property, Marriott's Monarch on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. It is headquartered in Orlando, Florida. MVW gives customers the option to choose flexible vacations, with a variety of resorts, hotels, cruises, adventure holidays and guided tours available. As of December 2021, MVW operates over 100 resorts and has more than 660,000 owners and members across a varied portfolio of seven vacation ownership brands. Additionally, it comprises exchange networks and membership programmes with over 3,200 resorts in more than 80 countries and about two million members, as well as the administration of over 180 additional resorts and accommodation assets. The company’s stock is listed on the NYSE under the ticker VAC. On 18 November 2021, MVW announced it had completed its second timeshare receivable securitisation of that year and acquired about $325m in loans.
