Virtu Financial Inc is a global financial services firm headquartered in New York City. Established in 2008 by Vincent Viola, former chairman of the New York Mercantile Exchange, the company provides transparent, flexible and innovative multi-asset trading solutions to clients worldwide. It allows bids and offers in over 25,000 securities at more than 230 venues.
The company completed its initial public offering in 2015. It is listed on the NASDAQ GS, and its stock is traded under the ticker VIRT. In December 2020 the VIRT price chart was showing a 52 week high of $28.59 and a 52 week low of $14.94, with a dividend yield of 3.86%. In 2019, Virtu completed its acquisition of the agency brokerage ITG, a leading pioneer in the field of technology-enabled trading solutions, in a $1bn deal.
The company owns several subsidiaries around the globe, including Virtu Financial Europe Limited, and Virtu Financial Ireland Holdings Limited. Virtu has won various awards including 'Top Electronic Trading Client Service' from Institutional Investor in 2018, 'EMS Best Product Adaptability' in 2019, and 'Best Company 2019' in the Markets Choice Awards.
