The SPDR S&P Biotech ETF tracks the performance of select companies within the biotechnology industry that are also listed on the S&P 500. Managed by State Street Global Advisors Funds Management Inc., this ETF was established in January 2006 with a base currency of USD.

The SPDR S&P Biotech fund's key objective is to replicate the investment performance of the S&P Biotechnology Select Industry Index. The companies held by this fund are all part of the S&P 500, which includes large companies listed on stock exchanges within the United States. Generally, the fund invests at least 80% of its total assets in stocks for companies that are listed in the index.
