Rubis SCA was founded in 1990 and is a French company providing petroleum-related services.
The company’s services are divided into three business areas: petroleum products distribution in Europe, the Caribbean and Africa through their subsidiary, Rubis Énergie, including service station networks, commercial fuel oil, aviation fuel, LPG, bitumens, and more; support services, including refining, trading supply and shipping operations; and the third and final area is storage, which is conducted through the company’s subsidiary, Rubis Terminal and includes products such as petroleum, chemical and agri-food products and operates in Belgium, France, the Netherlands, and Turkey.
Since 1995, Rubis has made around 40 acquisitions for a cumulative amount exceeding €2 billion and has a deep reservoir of acquisition targets ahead that may include oil majors, privatisation, family offices, government agencies, listed companies, and more. In 2019, the company announced that it had signed an agreement for the acquisition of Gulf Energy Holdings Limited, a company that ranks number 4 in Kenya in fuel marketing.
