Evolution Mining Limited explores for and mines gold and gold/copper concentrates in Australia and Canada. Additional operations also include copper and silver exploration. Headquartered in Sydney, Australia, Evolution Mining was incorporated in 1998.
Previously known as Catalpa Resources Limited, the company changed its name to Evolution Mining Limited in November 2011. As of 30 June 2021, it operates five gold mines, including Cowal in New South Wales; Mt Carlton and Mt Rawdon in Queensland; Mungari in Western Australia; and Red Lake in Ontario. Evolution Mining also holds a 100% interest in the Crush Creek project located in Queensland, as well as a 100% interest in Kundana Operations, a 75% interest in the West Kundana Joint Venture, and a 51% interest in the East Kundana Joint Venture. Additionally, the company has a 100% interest in portions of the Carbine project.
In November 2021, Evolution Mining Limited entered into an agreement to acquire the Ernest Henry Mining copper-gold mine in Queensland, Australia, from Glencore in a deal for 1bn AUD. The companies had previously worked in partnership at this property for several years. Stock for Evolution Mining is listed on the Australian Securities Exchange under the ticker EVN.
