About iShares MSCI All Country Asia ex Japan ETF

iShares MSCI All Country Asia ex Japan ETF was launched on 13 August 2008, and is managed by BlackRock, Inc. Its primary goal is to follow investment performance in its benchmark, the MSCI AC Asia ex Japan Index. The index comprises securities from emerging and developed Asian markets except for Japan. The markets covered by the index include China, Hong Kong, South Korea, Taiwan, Pakistan, India, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Thailand. The values of securities in the index are based on free-float market capitalisation. By investing most of its resources in the mix of securities comprising the index and in other investments like those securities, iShares MSCI All Country Asia ex Japan ETF enables investors to diversify their portfolios with a regional perspective. The fund is classified as “diversified” as defined in the US Investment Company Act of 1940. This classification means less than 25% of the fund’s total resources include securities that individually amount to higher than 5% of that total. The fund aims to maintain a diversification level proportional to its benchmark index. The top sectors in which the fund operates are information technology, financials, consumer discretionary, communication, industrials, materials, healthcare, consumer staples, real estate, energy, utilities, and cash and/or derivatives.
