Ameris Bancorp is an American bank holding company. Originally established in 1971 as the American Banking Company, it was incorporated as a bank holding company, named ABC Holding Company, in 1980. In 2005, ABC Bancorp rebranded to become Ameris Bancorp. The firm has its headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia, and operates via a network of branches across the south-eastern and mid-Atlantic region of the United States.

The company provides a wide range of both retail and commercial banking services to a broad customer base, with around 300 branches located across Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Maryland, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia. While its physical branches are located in just eight states, the bank also offers secure digital banking across the US via its online platform and mobile apps.

The bank provides a variety of financial services, including checking and savings accounts, commercial and consumer loans, trust services, brokerage services, student banking, mortgages, credit and debit cards, safety deposit boxes, and electronic funds transfers. The company has been publicly traded on the NASDAQ since 1994 and is listed under the stock ticker ABCB.
