What Is BP?
BP p.l.c. is an integrated oil and gas company. Founded in 1909, it has its headquarters in London, UK. It primarily explores, develops, and markets oil and gas. BP operates internationally in more than 60 countries. The company drives a sustainability agenda towards achieving net-zero or zero carbon emissions, aiming to establish a balance between energy demands and the environment.
The company runs its operations through three main divisions. Its Upstream segment manages the exploration, development, production, transport, and storage of oil and natural gas fields. Raw product refinement, processing, manufacturing, and marketing runs through the company’s Downstream segment. Finally, the Rosneft division explores and produces hydrocarbons, jet fuels, bitumen, and lubricants. Brands under the BP umbrella include Castrol, AMOCO, and AMPM.
