Continuing the Italian tradition of automotive excellence, Brembo, a world leader in braking systems, was founded in 1961. The Bergamo- based Brembo is listed on the Milan Stock Exchange as BRE.MI, having gone public back in 1995. The company is also part of the FTSE MIB, an index that combines 40 of the most traded companies in Italy. The company sells over 1,300 different products around the world.

Founders, Italo Breda and Emilio Bombassei, helped Brembo become one of the most successful and prominent companies in the automotive industry. Some examples proving the company’s exceptional performance are its popularity among Formula One teams and its working relationships with leading automobile manufacturers BMW, Mercedes, Porsche and Ferrari. Brembo greatly expanded its American manufacturing operations in 2014, with an 83 million euro expansion of its facility in Michigan.
