Boston Properties Inc is a fully integrated real estate investment trust (REIT) founded in 1970 and headquartered in Boston, Massachusetts. The company owns office space properties throughout the US, focusing primarily on Boston, Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, and Washington, DC. Boston Properties is one of the largest commercial real estate owners in the US, including co-working spaces and luxury office buildings. Its portfolio contains significant holdings such as the General Motors Building in New York City and the John Hancock Tower in Chicago.

The company’s primary customers are forward-thinking business and institutions, and its portfolio consists of mainly Class A office space. It aims to acquire properties, develop modern and attractive headquarters and office spaces, plan a company’s work environment based on the company’s needs, and provide funding for such purposes. Boston Properties has over 200 properties in its portfolio totalling over 51 million square feet of space, with several more properties under construction.

Boston Properties Inc. has been trading publicly on the NYSE since 1997 under the ticker BXP. It is the largest publicly traded developer, owner, and manager of Class A office properties in the United States.
