As of December 31, 2020, VITAS Healthcare Corporation operates 48 hospice programs throughout 14 states and the District of Columbia, employing approximately 11,500 healthcare professionals. In 2020, VITAS cared for over 90,000 patients, primarily in patients' homes, but also within hospitals, nursing homes, and assisted living facilities.
