Copart Inc is a global automotive company that primarily provides online vehicle auction and remarketing services to automotive resellers. Established in 1982, the firm is involved in the sale of more than 400,000 used and salvaged vehicles annually, including cars, vans, motorcycles, and HGVs. Headquartered in Dallas, Texas, the firm offers its services across the US and internationally, with offices in the UK, Germany, Ireland, Brazil, Spain, and the Middle East. The US market accounts for around 80% of its sales.

The company operates by acquiring vehicles for re-sale via dealers, insurance companies, banks and finance companies, fleet operators, and members of the general public. The buying markets for Copart vehicles are mainly used car dealers and exporters, rebuilders, and licenced dismantlers. The firm no longer runs live auctions, instead using a platform called Virtual Bidding Third Generation to run its 100% online auctions.

The firm employs more than 7,500 employees worldwide and also offers some related services such as vehicle delivery and a vehicle finder search tool to support customers looking for a certain type of vehicle. Copart is listed on the NASDAQ and trades under the stock ticker CPRT.
