Fuse Network is an Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) compatible blockchain that aims to enable the mass adoption of decentralised finance (DeFi) and crypto payments. Launched in 2019 by Mark Smargon, the Fuse Network is designed to encourage businesses, organisations, and communities to utilise DeFi by providing them with the tools for creating and managing token-powered environments. The Fuse platform is split into three: the Fuse Network blockchain, the open-source technology stack (including the Fuse Studio backend and Fuse Wallet technology), and a range of DeFi products and tools.

The Fuse Studio is a smart contract platform that allows users to effortlessly create a custom branded wallet and cryptocurrency. The Fuse ecosystem also includes Voltage Finance, a platform that provides users with a suite of DeFi tools, and Fuse Cash, a mobile wallet through which users can store, send, and receive crypto assets.

The Fuse blockchain and platform is powered by FUSE, the network’s native cryptocurrency. FUSE is a utility and governance token that can be used to make payments or be staked by holders, earning them a share of blockchain rewards in the process. Validators – users that stake a minimum of 100,000 tokens – can vote on protocol changes and network upgrades. Validators and delegators are rewarded in newly issued FUSE tokens, meaning that the supply is inflationary. The Fuse network also utilises FuseDollar (fUSD), a US dollar-pegged stablecoin that simplifies DeFi and cryptocurrency for new entrants into the space.
