The iShares Core 10+ Year USD Bond ETF is an exchange traded fund that seeks to track the investment results of the Bloomberg U.S. Universal 10+ Year Index, an index composed of U.S. dollar-denominated bonds that are rated either investment grade or high-yield, with remaining maturities greater than ten years. The fund is managed by Blackrock, a major global investment and wealth management company that is headquartered in New York City. The fund was established in 2009.
The ETF essentially provides investors with exposure to long-term U.S. dollar-denominated investment grade and high yield bonds, offering convenient and low cost targeted access to government, corporate, and emerging market bonds that mature in 10+ years. The fund has holdings in a variety of sectors, including financial, communication, and information technology.
The distribution frequency of the fund is monthly. The fund generally will invest at least 90% of its assets in the component securities of the underlying index, and may invest up to 10% of its assets in certain futures, options and swap contracts, cash and cash equivalents, as well as in securities not included in the underlying index.
