About Parrot SA
Parrot SA (PARRO) is a French wireless products manufacturer, founded in 1994 and listed on the Paris Euronext stock exchange. Parrot was initially known for its 1995 voice-activated digital assistant, Voicemate, popular with visually-impaired users including Stevie Wonder, and the early Bluetooth-based hands-free kit for mobile phones, which the company developed in partnership with Ericsson.
Parrot is now most associated with drone and drone camera technology. Parrot’s drone
models are sold in the retail and commercial markets and in 2019, the company made a move into the military space after receiving $11 million from the Department of Defense to develop a reconnaissance drone.
The company also has a unit which designs, develops and markets consumer products, including headphones for smartphones and tablets as well as in-automobile electronics, such as wireless multimedia systems. Autonomous irrigation systems for house plants and gardens are a further Parrot product line.
Parrot SA is a constituent of the CAC Small 90 index, having first listed as a public company in June 2006. Its share price has seen two major peaks, first in June 2007 and then in July 2015.
