Stadler Rail AG dates back to 1942 and is headquartered in Bussnang in Eastern Switzerland. This global rail vehicle construction company employs around 10,500 people at seven production, five components and over 40 service locations.
Stadler provides a wide range of heavy and urban transport products, including: high-speed trains, intercity trains, regional and commuter heavy rail trains, underground trains, tram trains, and more. In addition, the company manufactures main line locomotives, shunting locomotives and passenger carriages.
In 2019, the company and the Indonesian rail vehicle manufacturer, PT INKA announced that they had signed a joint venture contract to develop and manufacture rail vehicles, thus, marking Stadler’s strategically important entrance to the South East Asian region. That same year, the company won a large contract in the Pacific region to supply 34 locomotives for TRA in Taiwan.
