What Is Vornado Realty Trust?
Vornado Realty Trust, a real estate investment trust (REIT) headquartered in New York, owns and manages office, retail, merchandise mart properties, other real estate, and associated investments. The company’s main focus is on high-street office and retail properties in New York, San Fransico, and Chicago. Operating locally in the United States, Vornado Realty Trust was founded in 1980 by Steven Roth.

The company drives a sustainability policy and is recognised as a sustainability leader. Vornado Realty Trust considers the environment in its designs, builds, retrofits, and the maintenance of its property portfolio. Owning and managing more than 23 million square feet of LEED-certified buildings, the company received the Energy Star Partner of the Year Award for Sustained Excellence in 2019. In addition to its office and retail properties, Vornado Realty Trust also owns and manages the Bank of America Centre in San Fransisco.

The company’s retail portfolio consists of shopping centres, regional malls, and single-tenant retail assets. Other real estate and associated investments include marketable securities and mezzanine loans. Vornado Realty Trust’s prime assets include properties in Manhattan, the Penn District, Time Square, and a 70% controlling interest in 555 California Street in San Fransisco. The company celebrated 50 years of trading on the NYSE in 2012 under the VNO ticker.
