IDACORP operates as a holding company. Its primary subsidiary is Idaho Power Company, which is a regulated electric utility. Operating within the United States, IDACORP also acts as a holding company for IDACORP Financial, which invests in affordable housing projects and other real estate, and Ida-West Energy, a hydroelectric energy generator. Formed in 1998, IDACORP has its headquarters in Boise, Idaho.

Created in 1916, Idaho Power Company provides clean electricity within a 24,000-square-mile service area that covers southern Idaho and eastern Oregon. The company provides service to more than 590,000 general business customers. Operating on Snake River and its tributaries, Idaho Power operates 17 hydropower plants. The company also manages three natural gas-fired power plants and has a partial interest in two coal-fired generating plants. IDACORP serves a range of commercial and industrial customers, including government, healthcare, agriculture, food processing, education, and electronics and general manufacturing.

As of 31st December, 2020, the company operates 28,201 pole-miles of distribution lines, 186 energised distributions substations, 31 mixed-use distribution and transmission substations, 9 switching stations, 21 transmission substations, 23 step-up transmission substations at power plants, and approximately 4,833 pole-miles of high-voltage transmission lines.
