What Is New China Life Insurance Co Ltd?
New China Insurance, or NCI, is a state-owned life insurance company that was founded in 1996 and is based in Beijing. The Chinese government owns company shares through several holding companies. The company is called Xinhua Baoxian Jituan in Chinese.

Traded as 1336.HK on the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong, NCI stock also has widespread availability on several indices, including the CSI 300 Index and the FTSE China A50 Index. NCI is a dual-listed stock, available on the Shanghai Stock Exchange.

Like many large Chinese corporations, NCI is heavily influenced by Chinese state control. The Chinese government does not have any official ownership of the company, resorting to indirect ownership through a variety of holding companies. In the case of New China Insurance, the holding companies are Central Huijin, Baosteel Group and Chinese Securities Finance. NCI is believed to be one of the top 1000 companies in the world in terms of revenue.
