Paris-based Bureau Veritas is an international certification agency and HSE tester and inspector. HSE stands for Health, Safety and Environment. Bureau Veritas is one of the oldest companies in France, having been founded in 1828. The company’s original location was in Antwerp, with the name Bureau de Renseignements pour les Assurances Maritimes. The initial service the company provided was maritime insurance, until it was scrapped during the transition of the company from Antwerp to Paris. Bureau Veritas serves 140 countries worldwide.
The Bureau Veritas IPO, stock symbol: BVI.PA, took place in 2007. BNP Paribas, Deutsche Bank, Goldman Sachs, HSBC and Société Générale helped to manage the IPO that saw Bureau Veritas valued at €4 billion. BVI.PA stock is available on the Euronext Paris and the CAC Next 20 Component.
