Texas Pacific Land Corporation is a publicly traded land trust, and the corporate successor to Texas Pacific Land Trust, which was originally formed in 1888. The trust is one of the largest landowners in the state of Texas and primarily operates under two business segments: Land and Resource Management and Water Services and Operations. The trust’s administrative office is in Dallas, Texas.
The company's Land and Resource Management segment is engaged in the active management of around 880,000 acres of land, and also holds oil and gas royalty interests, easements and commercial leases. These commercial leases cover activities such as the operation of oil and gas pipelines, and agreements with operators and midstream companies to lease land assets, primarily for facilities and roads.
The company's Water Services and Operations segment provides full-service water offerings, such as water sourcing, water gathering and treatment, infrastructure development, and well testing services. This segment also engages in the recycled water operations and holds the royalties for water sourced from its land. The trust is listed on the NYSE where it trades under the ticker TPL.
