The Boeing Company is an aerospace firm that operates internationally. The company develops and manufactures commercial jetliners, military aircraft, satellites, and space flight launch systems, as well as providing aftermarket support services. Founded in 1916, Boeing has its headquarters in Chicago, Illinois.
Boeing operates its business through three business units: Commercial Airplanes; Defence, Space & Security; and Boeing Global Services. These units are further supported by Boeing Capital Corporation, a financing solutions provider that operates internationally. The Commercial Airplanes segment develops, produces, and markets commercial jetliners and provides fleet support services, primarily to commercial airlines. Boeing's Defence, Space & Security segment researches, develops, produces, and modifies a range of manned and unmanned military aircraft and weapons systems. Services to commercial and defence customers is provided through the Boeing Global Services segment. Boeing Capital Corporation manages financing exposure for equipment under operating and finance leases, in addition to offering financing solutions.
