Casino Guichard, also known as Groupe Casino, was founded in 1898 and is headquartered in Saint-Étienne, France. It is a leader in the global food retail industry, operating over 12,100 stores in Europe, Latin America, The Indian Ocean region, and other areas. The company employs about 220,000 people all around the world and has €36.6 billion in consolidated net sales.

Casino Guichard is focused on three main segments, the first being qualitative banners that include Monoprix or Casino Supermarchés in France, Carulla in Colombia or Pão de Açúcar in Brazil; the second segment is convenience banners, including Franprix, Vival, Spar or Le Petit Casino in France or Minuto Pão in Brazil; and the third being discount banners that mainly operate in Assai stores across Brazil.

The company also has a strong digital presence through its eCommerce channels and partnerships with global technology and logistics leaders.
