Fraport AG is an international airport service and transit provider, located in Frankfurt, Germany. Also known as Fraport AG Frankfurt Airport Services Worldwide, the company owns a stake in several airport services companies from around the world, in addition to being the main operator of the Frankfurt Airport in Germany. Fraport AG was the primary sponsor of the Bundesliga football team Eintracht Frankfurt until 2012.
Fraport AG, traded as FRA.DE on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange, went public in 2001. The initial value per share was set between $27.55 and $31.85, failing to meet the expectations of the markets. FRA.DE stock is also listed on the Xetra, a Frankfurt-based exchange that is entirely online.
As mentioned previously, Fraport AG has a controlling or partial stake in many airport service companies from around the world. Some of these include DIAL Delhi International Airport Private Limited in India, Lima Airport Partners S.R.L. in Peru and Northern Capital Gateway LLC in Russia. Fraport AG was awarded control of 14 regional Greek airports for a period of 40 years by the Greek government.
