It is primarily engaged in the discovery, development, and commercialisation of a range of life-changing treatments for patients with serious and under-addressed neurological and endocrine-related diseases and psychiatric disorders.

The company develops drugs for women’s health issues such as endometriosis, uterine fibroids, and polycystic ovary syndrome. It is also involved in drug discovery for neurological diseases such as Parkinson’s disease and tardive dyskinesia, as well as for other disorders ranging from anxiety, depression, and anhedonia to epilepsy, schizophrenia, and congenital adrenal hyperplasia (CAH). Neurocrine Biosciences Inc specialises in the targeting and interruption of disease-causing mechanisms involving the interconnected pathways of the nervous and endocrine systems.

Commercial products available from Neurocrine Biosciences include Ingrezza, used to treat adult patients with tardive dyskinesia (TD), and Ongentys, a medicine used with levodopa and carbidopa in people with Parkinson’s disease (PD).
