What Is US Foods Holding Corp.?
US Foods Holding Corp. markets and distributes fresh, frozen, and dried food products, as well as non-food-related industry goods, to food services customers. Originally known as USF Holding Corp., the company was founded in 1988 and changed its name to US Foods Holding Corp. in February 2016. It operates locally in the United States and has its headquarters in Rosemont, Illinois. As of January 2021, the company manages 70 broadline locations and 80 cash and carry stores.

As the second-largest food company in the United States, US Foods Holding Corp partners with approximately 300,000 restaurants and foods service operators. The company provides its services to single-unit and multi-unit restaurants, regional concepts, and national restaurants chains and franchises. US Food Holding Corp’s other customers include hospitals, nursing homes, hotels, country clubs, government institutions and military organisations, retail locations, and universities and colleges.

The company holds approximately 10% of the market share in the US’ food service distribution industry. It went public in 2015 after an attempted buy-out by Sysco, the country’s largest food and non-food product distributor. US Foods Holding Corp. trades on the NYSE under the USFD ticker.
