Canadian Solar Inc. is one of the largest solar technology and renewable energy companies in the world. Founded in Canada in 2001, the firm is headquartered in Guelph, Ontario, and has subsidiaries in 23 countries in 6 continents, serving an international customer base across the globe. The company is engaged in the manufacture of solar PV modules and the provision of renewable energy generated by large scale solar projects.

The company has around 20 manufacturing plants across the Americas and in Asia, with active customers in more than 160 countries. Canadian Solar has delivered over 63 GW of solar modules to thousands of customers worldwide, which is enough to meet the energy needs of almost 15 million households.

Canadian Solar Inc. supplies solar modules to residential, commercial, and industrial customers, along with customised products for original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and ready-to-install rooftop solar systems. The firm owns and operates a number of manufacturing plants in China, but the majority of sales are generated in Europe. The firm has been listed on the NASDAQ since 2006 and trades under the stock ticker CSIQ.
