It was originally incorporated in 2001 and went on to release its first Virtual Context Centre two years later. The company has operations ongoing throughout the globe, working on an international scale in the US, Canada, the UK, Germany, Spain, France, Portugal, Brazil and Australia. The company headquarters are located in San Roman, California.

Five9 Inc provides a virtual contact centre cloud platform, that offers a number of applications and solutions. These include contact centre-related customer service, sales and marketing functions. As of August 2022, Five9 Inc estimates that it has served more than 2500 customers around the world. The company records over 7 billion call minutes each year in service of these customers.

The company has received several rewards since its inception. It was named a leader in the 2022 Opus Research Decision Makers’ Guide to Enterprise Intelligent Assistants and was awarded the Aragon Research Innovation Award for Intelligent Contact Centres in 2021.Five9 Inc sells its stock shares on the NASDAQ stock exchange.
