What Is James Hardie Industries PLC?
James Hardie Industries PLC is a global-scale building materials supply company selling both interior and exterior supplies. The company has been in operation since 1888 having been set up in Melbourne by James Hardie. The company’s headquarters are based in Dublin, Ireland. The company was a pioneer of fibre cement which it managed to bring to prominence in the 1980s. JHX has made it clear that the product is highly resistant to flood damage, although it is not as resilient against hurricanes and other powerful winds.

Many companies use James Hardie for their large projects. That is mainly due to a specific innovation that it has made within the fibre cement world. James Hardie, the company forebearer, invented fibre cement in the early 1980s. The material is versatile and produced sustainably, with low energy consumption from cement, sand and cellulose fibres and is used widely.

As well as inventing and specializing in this material, the company supplies customers with planks, flat panels, fiber gypsum, flooring solutions and much more. James Hardie Industries PLC is listed on the NYSE under the ticker JHX.
