Sika AG is a Swiss company that specialises in the development, production and sale of chemical products. The company was originally founded in 1910 by entrepreneur Kaspar Winkler, who first ignited the business with the invention of the SIKA-1, a waterproofing admixture for mortar that sets quickly. It first entered the Swiss Market Index in May 2017, nearly a century after its original founding date. Sika AG is an international company that operates globally, with subsidiaries found in 101 countries. Its headquarters are located in the Baar region of Switzerland.

The company chiefly produces chemical products for sealing, bonding, dampening, reinforcing and protecting materials for the construction and automotive industries. As of July 2022, Sika AG develops and manufactures its product across over 300 factories and employs more than 27,000 employees across its operations. The company’s activities are divided into two separate sectors, the construction division and the industry division.

A number of brands operate within the Sika AG umbrella, including SikaRapid, Sarnafil, Sika ViscoCrete, Sikadur and SikaHydroPrep, amongst others. Sika AG trades its shares on the Swiss Stock Exchange and uses the ticker SIKA.ZU.
