TotalEnergies SE is a European-based energy company specialising in oil and natural gas energy. It explores, extracts, refines, and distributes these energy sources worldwide. TotalEnergies manages production, chemical, and refining sites in the Americas, Europe, Asia, the Asia-Pacific, the Middle East, and Africa. The company was founded in 1924 and is headquartered in Paris, France. It has a presence in more than 130 countries around the world.

TotalEnergies has five operational divisions: Exploration & Production, Integrated Gas, Renewables & Power, Refining & Chemicals, and Marketing & Services. End products include petroleum and petroleum-based products, lubricants, bitumen, and heavy fuels. The company partners with PureCycle Technologies to address the recycling of plastics. As of December 2021, more than 15,500 service stations worldwide are under the TotalEnergies name.

The company trades publicly on the Euronext Paris under the ticker TTE. As of November 2020, since its acquisition of Charging Solutions, TotalEnergies operates 2,000 electric vehicle charging points in Germany. The company plans to expand to 150,000 charging points across Europe by 2025. In January 2021, the company also agreed to buy a 20% interest in Adani Green Energy for $2.5bn.
