Founded in 1966, Huntington Bancshares Inc is a holding company with headquarters in Columbus, Ohio. It operates in Ohio and 10 other states in the US.

Huntington serves small and mid-market businesses, corporations, consumers, municipalities, and other entities. Its products and services fall under the following categories: business, commercial, regional, and consumer banking; commercial property and vehicle financing; home lending; and Huntington Private Client accounts. Aside from the standard banking services, the company offers services in the following areas: wealth and investment management, treasury management and foreign exchange, financial and retirement planning, equipment leasing, mortgage, trust, and investment and insurance brokerage. The bank also engages in automotive dealerships within its franchise area and other states. It provides commercial banking services to automotive dealers, including debt and equity financing and loans for construction or commercial real estate purchase. Additionally, the bank offers automobile and equipment financing, as well as capital market and national settlement services that extend beyond its franchise states.

In 2021, Huntington merged with TCF Financial Corporation (TCF National Bank). Huntington Bancshares Inc trades on the NASDAQ with the stock ticker HBAN.
