Android smartphones are cell phones that use the Android operating system.  The Android operating system allows you to use all of the basic functions of cell phones including calling, receiving and sending text messages, saving contact information and camera functions.  In addition, this system has a web browser and the Android Market where you can find and download applications for the Android operating system.  Now, you can even use social trading applications on your Android smartphones to monitor and execute your trades without the use of your computer.

Understanding Smartphone Technology

Originally, cell phones were only capable of basic communication functions but in recent years, developers have created smartphones.  These cell phones function more like a computer than a cell phone, allowing you to browse the Web, check your email, get directions or even to check the weather forecast.  In particular, Android smartphones will help you stay connected using Google-based services like Gmail, Google Maps, Google Search and YouTube.

The first Android smartphone was the G1 and was released in the United States in 2008 by HTC on the T-Mobile network.  The rest of the world called this phone the Dream.  In 2011, it was estimated that there were 100 million Android smartphones that were being used throughout the world with 400,000 new users every day.  Every major U.S. carrier offers Android smartphones and these phones are available in nearly every market in the world from most large manufacturers including Motorola, HTC and Samsung.

Android Social Trading Applications

There are several social trading applications that are now available for Android smartphones, including eToro.  Android social trading applications are designed to be functional and user-friendly.  These applications allow you to access live feeds, monitor rates, manage your trades and even follow or copy another trader directly from your smartphone.  These applications have been designed to perform all the fundamental operations that are available on social trading sites right from your Android device.  Some of these applications even allow you to use a demo platform so you can strengthen your trading skills anytime, anywhere.

You can now instantly monitor positions, try out a new trading strategy with practice money and follow the trades of your peers wherever you go. Android social trading applications even allow you to keep up with the most recent and relevant trading news.  These applications will allow you to see a live news feed that features updates from news sources and blogs.  You will be able to check out the latest news about the global financial market with the touch of a button.  If you see a headline that interests you, you can simply click on the headline and you will be directed to the full story with analyses from experts and the impact the news will have on social trading.
