U.S. indices slipped slightly on Monday as markets were disappointed by weak German business sentiment data and at the same time pushed up by gains in industrial and energy stocks. European markets fell in reaction to weak German data and negative sentiment was also fuelled by worries about indebted countries as Spain is facing pressure to apply for a bailout and Greece possibly missing 20 billion euro in its state budget.
