Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced and qualified accountant to join our global finance team as Assistant Financial Controller, operating within the Cyprus divisional finance team. The successful candidate will support the Financial Controller in ensuring robust financial oversight, accurate reporting, and strict adherence to regulatory requirements. This role is particularly focused on client fund safeguarding, custody reconciliations, and cost reporting across the group.


What will you be doing?

  • Ensure the segregation and safeguarding of client assets, monitoring daily reconciliations and escalating issues promptly.
  • Perform/ review custody reconciliations in line with regulatory and internal requirements and prepare monthly/ quarterly presentations material for management.
  • Preparation of due diligence reports on banks and counterparties
  • Prepare/ review monthly calculations of trading costs, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Support the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to enhance automation and efficiency within finance operations.
  • Assist in internal, external and MIFID/Custody audit, ensuring full documentation and compliance.
  • Contribute to ad-hoc finance projects as required.

Requirements

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CPA or equivalent).
  • Strong knowledge of reconciliations and safeguarding of client assets.
  • Solid understanding of data accuracy and reporting needs, especially within a regulated industry.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office suite, especially MS Excel (pivot tables, lookups, etc.)
  • Experience in business intelligence platforms (like Tableau) and in AI- driven tools and solutions is a strong advantage.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, in English.
  • Prior experience working in financial services / companies regulated by CySEC or MFSA is considered an advantage.
