Who we're looking for -
Based at our Cyprus headquarters, this role suits a commercially minded senior lawyer with strong international experience in fintech, financial services, trading, who enjoys complex challenges, takes ownership and thrives in a dynamic, international environment. You will work across the full range of the company's legal needs - from day-to-day commercial agreements through to trading documentation, regulatory matters and strategic transactions.
Key Responsibilities -
• Provide ongoing legal advice to business teams across the company, including Regulation, Product, R&D, Marketing, HR, Finance and General & Administrative functions.
• Draft and advise on terms & conditions, trading agreements and related documentation for new financial products.
• Advise on financial services regulation across relevant jurisdictions (Europe, the UK, the US, Australia and others) — working with local counsel where required — as well
as related areas such as privacy and data protection.
• Draft, review and negotiate the full range of agreements the business requires, including: (i) documents for major cross-border transactions such as M&A, joint ventures,
strategic partnerships and investment arrangements; (ii) complex commercial agreements such as financing, broker and asset purchase agreements; and (iii) day-to-day
agreements covering software, services, consultancy, procurement, marketing, IT/IP and data privacy.
Requirements
• Qualified lawyer (LLB/JD or equivalent) admitted to practice in an EU, UK or other common-law jurisdiction, with 7–10 years' experience.
• In-house experience at a fintech or financial services company, including hands-on drafting and negotiation of trading-related agreements and exposure to the legal
implementation of fintech and investment products.
• Significant experience drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial agreements — including software licences, technology, marketing, services and related
arrangements.
• Working knowledge of EU and UK financial services regulation.
• Experience independently managing complex, cross-border projects and strategic partnerships.
• Native or near-native English (C2 level), with excellent drafting, negotiation and communication skills.
• Commercial, analytical and detail-focused, with the ability to deliver practical solutions that support deal execution and business objectives.
• Service-oriented, a strong team player, and able to perform effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
Advantage-
• Experience with M&A, joint ventures and investment-related transactions.
• Familiarity with US, Australian or other non-EU/UK financial services regimes.
• Experience in another highly regulated, technology-driven industry (e.g. gaming).
