Role Summary:
We’re looking for a technical and data-savvy Global Payroll Controller to join our team and ensure our payroll operations are seamless, accurate, and compliant across multiple international locations. This is a high-visibility role with broad ownership, covering payroll, systems, reporting, and audit support for our rapidly growing global business.
What will you be doing?
Payroll Ownership & Support:
- Assist and back up payroll operations for Cyprus, UK, and Germany.
- Become the primary contact for payroll data preparation and controls across:
- USA, Australia (incl. Spaceship entity), Singapore, Denmark, Belgium, UAE, Malta, Gibraltar, Seychelles.
- Support payroll payment processing across all entities (as backup).
System Integration & Projects:
- Lead a one-time implementation of Australia Spaceship and Belgium payroll into the Papaya platform.
Reporting & Compliance:
- Prepare monthly global analytics reports comparing payroll costs.
- Generate and maintain vacation accrual reports from Bob HR system (post-module implementation).
- Provide feedback to HR on basic salary reconciliations using Bob reports.
- Handle bonus provisions, equity data collection (options, credits, ESPP), and allocate to relevant entities.
Vendor & Invoice Management:
- Download and forward Papaya invoices for accounting payment processing.
- Open and manage purchase orders for payroll-related providers.
- Review and approve monthly payroll provider invoices.
Controls & Audit Support:
- Adapt payroll controls to SOX compliance processes.
- Monitor and follow up on employee pensions and ledger accounts.
- Support the annual EY audit (Jan–Mar) with reporting and audit responses.
Requirements
- Proven experience in global payroll across multiple regions.
- Experience with Payroll and HR Systems (we use Papaya and Bob)
- Strong Excel proficiency (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables).
- Ability to work on time-sensitive tasks and crucial deadlines.
- High service orientation and commitment to accuracy.
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate with key internal and external stakeholders groups globally.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team.
