19 year old Haakon Fuglaas is rapidly becoming a big name in the Norwegian social trading scene and the global eToro community. Haakon was featured in the prestigious Norwegian Finansavisen newspaper, who reported how the young currency trader is running an online trading portfolio from his bedroom at home, and attracting hundreds of social traders who use eToro’s unique social trading platform to copy his investments. Haakon’s enthusiastic engagement with the eToro community, and his strong leadership (he runs his own online trading guide to social trading), have made him an authoritative voice on the trading platform.
Haakon who trades under the user name NORTrading, has inspired 4,092 followers and 526 copiers – a major achievement for somebody barely out of high school.
Social trading is taking off in a big way across Scandinavia (and most other regions). The recent positive interest in the financial press is a sign of eToro’s leading presence in Norway, and a reflection of it’s viability as a genuine alternative investment platform. The media is waking up to the exciting phenomenon of social trading and ordinary people taking control of their investments.
It is likely that we will see several similar media reports and feature articles in 2016 as awareness grows amongst financial journalists and editors. Hopefully several more eToro Popular Investors will be in the news very soon.
eToro CEO Yoni Assia also commented:
“People like Haakon represents everything that eToro stands for. I started out as a young trader with a passion for investments and it’s a dream come true for me to see a guy like Haakon using eToro to achieve his ambitions and build himself into a successful popular investor. That’s really the whole eToro vision in a nutshell!”
Haakon himself is surprisingly modest about his success, but gave eToro a strong public endorsement:
“It’s like Facebook for traders. Although I am very interested in currency trading and trading, and seems eToro is a very good learning platform.”
Let’s hear what Haakon has to say about trading:
I specialize in currencies. I try to maintain a diversified portfolio consisting of different pairs. I use basic technical analysis, and big fundamentals when executing trades.
