Since we’ve launched real-time stock CFD trading, the trade execution procedure has moved from the eToro OpenBook to the eToro WebTrader or Mobile Trader if you’re trading from a portable device.
Naturally this has been causing some confusion as to how to find the stock you’re looking for using these two platforms. So we’ve decided to clear it up once and for all.
In the WebTrader, due to the number of stocks in our offering we have chosen not to include them in the live rates panel. Instead you can open stock trades by entering your stock’s name in the search bar at the top of the screen:
Entering the first letters of your stock’s name will open up a selection of matching stocks:
Then once you click on the stock of your choosing you will get the trade settings dialog box:
Notice that you can choose to buy the stock at the current market rate, or you can click on “At Rate” to set a BUY/SELL order that will be executed if/when the stock price reaches your desired rate.
Once you click on “Send Order” your order will be opened and you will be able to see it in your Open Trades.
The same search based mechanism applies to trading stocks via the mobile app.
To open a trade, all you have to do is click on the search button at the top right corner of the screen:
Start typing the name of your stock:
Tap on your stock of choice then choose whether you wish to buy or sell:
Set your trade parameters in the dialog box:
And that’s it, all that’s left to do is click on “Open Trade”!
