Chief Executive Officer & Founder
Yoni Assia is the Founder & CEO of eToro. From an early age, Yoni showed a great aptitude for finance and computer science. The combination of these skills led to the creation of eToro’s investment network. In order to encourage financial literacy, Yoni is leading various educational projects in emerging markets. He is also a member of the YPO, was included in the Financial News’ prestigious ‘Fintech 40’ ranking, and was selected by City A.M. as a ‘Fintech 100’ top influencer. Yoni holds a Bsc in Computer Science & Management from the Open University of Israel and an Msc in Computer Science from IDC Herzliya.
Chief Product Officer & Co-Founder
For more than 20 years, Ronen has successfully merged technology and design to create simple, powerful, intuitively interactive products that seamlessly perform across multiple devices and platforms. Prior to co-founding eToro in 2007, Ronen designed products ranging from medical devices and household appliances, as well as numerous desktop and web applications. Today Ronen oversees the product and engineering departments for eToro. He holds a BA in Industrial Design from Bezalel Academy of Art and Design in Jerusalem, and an MA in Product Design from the Royal College of Art in London.
Chief Financial Officer
Shalom joined eToro in March 2016. He brings 25 years of executive management experience in online advertising, e-commerce and communications. Previous positions include: CEO at DSNR Media Group (DMG), CEO at d-group, a subsidiary of Golden Pages (Israeli Yellow Pages); and CFO at Golden Pages. Shalom holds a Bsc in Electrical Engineering from the Technion - Israel Institute of Technology, and an MBA from Tel Aviv University. He served as Lieutenant Commander in the Israeli Navy.
Chief Operation Officer
Avi has been with eToro since its inception in 2007. He serves as Managing Director of eToro EU LTD, and the Executive Director of eToro UK LTD. Avi is in charge of the day to day regulation operations and development in the group - legal, compliance, back office, operation risk management and payment operations. Avi holds an Executive MBA from the Kellogg School of Management & Recanati School of Management Tel Aviv, LL.B, and a Bachelor of Law degree from Bar Ilan University in Israel. He served as a Lieutenant in the Israel Defence Force.
Jonathan has been with eToro since its inception in 2007. He currently serves as VP Trading, managing trading operations, pricing, liquidity, and dealing teams at eToro. Jonathan is a fixed-income derivatives trader with a passion for numbers and innovation. He holds a BA and LLB (Bachelor of Law & Business Management) from the Interdisciplinary Center Herzliya, Israel, and an MBA in Financial Engineering from The Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Israel.
Tal joined eToro in 2009 and is currently leading the Product Department (Product Management & Design Studio teams), managing the end-to-end lifecycle, from product roadmap to execution. Before joining eToro, Tal was a successful entrepreneur. He served as the Founder & CEO of a startup company which raised funds from two VCs and launched its product. Tal Holds a BA in Business Administration from the College of Management, Rishon LeZion, Israel.
Israel joined eToro in 2014 and is responsible for eToro’s Research and Development department, as well as technical operations. Israel has more than 20 years of experience in entrepreneurship, leading innovation, building complex game-changing products and revenue growth. He has held several senior positions in Product, R&D and IT Operations throughout his career. Most recently he was the CEO of Dell Software’s Israel operations. Israel holds a BA in Computer Science & Economics from the Bar-Ilan University, Israel.
VP Human Resources
Miri joined eToro in Mar 2009. She currently leads the HR and Administration teams - including recruiting, welfare, training, and organisational development. She is also in charge of internal communication, compensation and benefits, ongoing support and consulting, office operations and administration. Prior to joining eToro she was the HR Director of Fraud Sciences for 4 years until PayPal acquired it. Before that, she worked in HR for several leading companies including: Wiseband Communication, Optibase LTD, and Mercury Interactive (acquired by HP). Miri holds a BA & LLB, Bachelor of Law from the College of Management, Rishon LeZion, Israel.
Debbie joined eToro in June 2011. Prior to that, she served as a Partner in the Corporate and Securities Group in Meitar, Liquornik, Leshem, and Geva Tal (one of the Top 3 law firms in Israel). She represented corporations and individuals in a wide range of international and domestic corporate and commercial transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, venture capital investments, venture lending, public and private debt and equity financings, joint ventures and strategic collaborations, technology licensing, and distribution and marketing arrangements. Debbie holds an LLB, from the Law Faculty of the Tel-Aviv University, Israel.
VP Online Marketing
Nir Joined eToro in July 2011. He heads the online marketing department, which includes the SEM, Social, Media, Community, Retention, Partners and Growth teams. Nir has been in the Business Intelligence and marketing field for many years in various business verticals, and in his previous position at eToro managed the BI team. Nir holds a BA in Economics and Statistics and an MBA and M.SC in Stochastic Operational Research from The Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Israel.
VP Customer Facing
Etay joined eToro in 2016 and is responsible for the customer-facing personnel, including teams in Israel, UK, Russia, China, Cyprus (~100 employees) and for company-wide coordination of initiatives with company VPs. Prior to that, Etay was also the CEO of a call centre business, a subsidiary of Israel’s largest telecom company, Bezeq, where he oversaw more than 1,500 people in call centre services to global clients. Etay holds an Economics and Management degree (BSc), from The Hebrew University Jerusalem, Israel.
Santo is a co-founder and General Partner at Spark Capital. He led Spark Capital’s investments in various startup companies that were later acquired, and served as a board member at 5Min (AOL) and thePlatform (Comcast). Santo was previously a partner at Charles River Ventures (CRV) where he led investments in several companies that were acquired or went public. He holds an MBA. in Finance from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, an MSc in Electrical Engineering from NJIT and a BSc in Electrical Engineering and Physics from Bogazici University in Istanbul, Turkey.
Avner Stepak is one of the major shareholders and ex-CEO of Meitav Dash Investment House, the 2nd largest investment house in Israel, managing over $32 billion and employing over 850 people. Avner serves as Vice Chairman of the company and is in charge of corporate strategy and business development at the group. Avner is a regular capital markets commentator for Israel's national radio and holds an M.B.A. from Tel Aviv University and Northwestern University through the Kellogg-Recanati International Executive Program.
Eddy is one of the best-known figures in the Israeli business community. Since the beginning of Israel's venture capital industry, Eddy has focused on private-equity investments in the high-tech sector and has played a key role in several high-profile success stories, including Fundtech, Paradigm Geophysical, and Orbot Instruments. Eddy has been an active private equity investor in Israel since 1992 when he began a program that invested in early-stage Israeli high-tech companies. Eddy holds an Msc in Information Systems and a BA in Statistics, both from Tel Aviv University.
Managing Director - Business (UK Region)
Iqbal manages eToro's business activities in the UK. He has over two decades of experience with Internet related companies, taking them from startup to IPO. Prior to eToro, he held senior positions as a CMO and CTO, in addition to founding several companies. He co-founded India’s largest web-hosting business, launched a telecoms startups and then progressed to cloud computing. Following this, he joined a fledgeling startup called Nutmeg as CMO and helped shape it into the UK’s largest robo-advisor.
Managing Director - Operations (UK Region)
Paul joined eToro in February 2014. He brings over 30 years' experience gained in rapidly changing international financial service businesses and is responsible for Operations of eToro's UK office as well as the finance functions in both the London and Cyprus entities. Previous positions include CEO and COO in the international operations of securities brokers E*TRADE and Swissquote, as well as senior positions in investment banks UBS, NatWest Markets, and Daiwa Securities. Paul is a qualified Chartered Accountant, gained with KPMG, holds a BSc. in Economics & Accounting from Bristol University, and has direct experience of living and working in Hong Kong and Paris.
Managing Director (China Region)
Jasper has been in the trading field for 10 years. He previously worked at FXCM as the General Manager in China, opening the firm’s first office there. Jasper has many years of experience in the finance industry in China, across different areas including trading, education, and institutional solutions. He holds a BBA in Finance from City University of Hong Kong.
Managing Director (Russia Region)
George is a financier, trader and money manager with more than 10 years experience in global markets. He has held several senior business development positions in companies such as Microsoft Russia, Thomson Reuters and TradingView. His experience includes being a host of a live financial TV show and management of a crypto fund investment portfolio. George holds a Master’s degree in Financial Management from Russian New University.
