eToro OpenBook Update – Add Photos to the Feed and More

We’re happy to announce the release of a new eToro OpenBook version with the following updates:

1. Add Photos to Posts and Comments

In our previous update we introduced our new rich feed which allows for better visualization of the links and videos you post. Today we’re adding the ability to upload photos to your posts or comments!

To add a photo, click the new photo icon in the Post box:

Choose the image file you want to upload (either a PNG, JPG or GIF file, up to 3MB), add your text and submit the post. Your post will look as follows:

Clicking on the photo will open it in full size, next to the post’s comments thread:

2. New charts on Market Pages

The new and interactive eToro charts are now also available on eToro OpenBook’s market pages (to learn more about the charts, see this previous blog post).

Just click on “Open Interactive Chart” on the market page:

A pop will then open with the interactive chart:

Hint hint: You can also share your chart on the eToro OpenBook feed!

Click the “Share” button on the upper right side of the pop up, and copy the URL presented to you. Paste the URL in the post box on th eToro OpenBook and share your trading insights with the eToro community.

3. Post page for trading activities

We now support single-post pages for the trading activities on the feed. This means that once your trading activity gets comments, you’ll get a notification directing you to the relevant thread. For example – see this link.

4. People Discovery Tool

The People page (AKA “rankings”) now calls you to try out a new beta of the People Discovery Tool. Go ahead and check it out.

5. Performance Optimization

For this release we’ve devoted a lot of effort to accelerating the eToro OpenBook’s performance. You’ll be able to see the first impact on the People and Markets pages, as well as on user charts. We will continue our efforts on this front for our upcoming releases, in order to keep improving performance and enhancing your user experience.

All that’s left to do now is head over to the eToro OpenBook and try all the shiny new stuff out for yourself!

As always, we’d love to get your feedback on these new updates, so please tell us what you think in the comments below.
